Des Nudes

Wife and husband team Elissa Ehlin, an interior designer and color theorist, and James Leritz, a furniture designer and sculptor, conceived Kiln Enamel out of love in 2001. Their simple, elegant designs are products of a centuries-old process, while exerimenting with modern methods of kiln firing stained glass onto metal. The result is coveted from coast to coast. Beautifully modern tableware, mix and match with vivid color and geometric shapes. Their jewelry is crafted to compliment fashion looks from downtown, uptown and all around. Tableware and jewelry make up the majority of the Kiln Enamel offering, but the line continues to evolve and now includes sculptures, mobiles and other decorative home products. Originally selling on the streets of Soho, the line quickly caught the attention of the heads at Kate Spade. A collection was produced for the Spade label that was the beginning of their phenomenal growth. Bergdorf Goodman, Calvin Klein, Vivre, Holt Renfru, and Sushi Samba have commissioned jewelry and tableware pieces for their brands since then. Several boutiques in New York and Brooklyn have also followed suit. Jewelry is priced between $26 and $160, while talbeware starts at about $600 per five-piece place setting. www.kilnenamel.com
