The garment industry must have seen “The Hulk” coming. Shades of green—from Subtle to shocking—are all the rage this season. A long list of leading designers chose green as the accent color in their collections. Cynthia Rowley dipped her filmy slipdresses in it. Carolina Herrera’s satiny jumpsuits, Oscar de la Renta’s sporty shirtdresses, Alexander McQueen’s cropped halters and Burberry’s slouchy tanks turned up in green as well. To see green so prevalent should come as no surprise. It’s merely an outgrowth of designers’ fixation on infusing wardrobes with color this season. Whatever the shades, green coordinates well with neutrals (tan, brown, black, white and even gray). Pairing it with denim’s a no-brainer. And there’s no steadfast rule about wearing green with other brights as long as they’re fashioned together tastefully and in moderation.
